RESEARCH ASSISTANTS
Are you interested in studying how adolescents’ social relationships affect their health and well-being? We are looking for a team of motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate Research Assistants (RAs) to contribute to our ongoing research projects in the lab. This is a great opportunity for students who would like to gain hands-on experience conducting psychological research. You can learn more about our research here.
As an RA in the ARC lab, your responsibilities will include some or all of the following:
• contacting local schools and community organizations to assist with participant recruitment
• conducting literature reviews on topics related to development, relationships, and health
• data entry, cleaning, and coding
• survey design and testing
• organizational duties (e.g., tracking participant survey completion)
Becoming an RA offers a number of benefits for students, including but not limited to:
• first-hand experience conducting developmental psychology research and learning about the research process
• formal and informal professional development (e.g., learning about graduate school)
• working in a collaborative environment with other students who have similar interests
• opportunities to pursue independent research projects and give presentations on research findings
There are several requirements for RAs joining the lab:
• 6 hours/week commitment
• minimum 2-semester commitment
• conscientiousness and strong attention to detail
• attendance of a biweekly lab meeting
Although not required, preference will be given to students:
• with prior lab experience
• who are first- or second-year psychology majors
• with flexible schedules (e.g, for occasional weekend or early morning data collection)
To apply for an RA position, please complete the form below. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. If you have any questions, you can email hannah.schacter@wayne.edu.
